Huge wrap around deck for easy outdoor space of kitchen/family room. The property is situated on 10 acres of wooded forest with a magnificent nature trail down to the waterfront for swimming.

Heating and Cooling:
This is a PassiveHaus certified passive designed house. This house is designed to be heated by the sun and insulated by the very thermally resistant building envelope. Effectively this is a house within a house and built to be cooled or heated through the opening and closing of the very high-performance windows. There is a fully functional heating and cooling system which is intended for backup to the natural function of the building. The remote control to operate the system can be found in the top kitchen drawer to the right of the stove.
Laundry:
You may use the washing machine and dryer. It is important to understand that the dryer is a condensing dryer and takes a very long time to dry linens or towels. Therefore, we recommend that you only use the dryer for light clothing and hang other items to dry.
Nature Trail and Waterfront:
The Reach Guesthouse is situated on a 10-acre property on the escarpment of the Adolphus Reach peninsula. The house is in the south west corner of the lot. Behind the house is a wooded forest overlooking the water and across the lake to the mainland.
A curated nature trail begins at the back of the house lot and is demarked by a white pole across the entrance. Take the main trail or the mini trail off to the right about 20 meters down the way. Both will lead through the pristine woods to beautiful lookouts and eventually to two routes down to the deck and waterfront. Bring a towel and a yoga mat for the most amazing yoga platform or place to just sit and read a book.
Access to water requires a short climb down from the deck. We recommend adults with appropriate shoes make their way to the waterfront very carefully and swim at your own risk.
Important Warnings:
The trail is for the pleasure of our guests; however, you use it entirely at your own risk. There are dangerous drop offs, trip hazards and steep paths. DO NOT allow children unattended on the trail.
DO NOT allow children to remain unattended on any part of the trail or woods, but special care must be taken at lookout points and near the water. When going through the woods ALWAYS stay on the path. The owners and management are not responsible for any injury sustained in any way in the use of the trails.
Update June 23, 2019:
Due to high water levels, the beachfront has been pushed back and made the waterfront more dangerous than usual. Therefore, until further notice, we do not recommend swimming at the beachfront.
