Amazing colours of Fall take you into breath-taking winter landscapes and all the related activity you would expect.
Located in the west bay of Sand Lake in the heart of the Rideau Lakes district. A chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and locks extending 202 km from Kingston, at the east end of Lake Ontario to Ottawa, Canada’s capital city. Completed in 1832 by the British, this historic waterway with its 45 locks and 19 km of canal cuts is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site carefully maintained and operated by Parks Canada. The Rideau Lakes are located in Eastern Ontario, approximately 1 hour from Ottawa, 45 minutes from Kingston, 30 minutes from the Thousand Islands Bridge to the U.S.A. and 3 1/2 hours from Toronto.
This 6 bedroom, 3 bath property has been designed for family and friend gatherings, inside and out, with large upper and lower decks (with stunning views), a screened-in post and beam lanai, private regulation size tennis and basketball court, large dock equipped with a 6 person pontoon and 1 person kayak. The quiet lake and surroundings also offer romantic moments for moon watching, starry nights, loon listening and peaceful contemplation seated at the end of the dock.
Access by well maintained roads, near the quaint and convenient village of Elgin. Elgin has an excellent grocery store, small pharmacy and a few shops and is approximately a 20 minute drive from the town of West Port, noted as the little Ireland of the area. West Port has many fine shops, restaurants, bakeries and heritage sites.
There are a number of lock systems to explore by boat or just sit on the dock and take a swim. The walk down to the dock is great exercise (300 ft by stairs or by interlocked road); however, if needed, it is a quick drive to Jones Falls for drop off and pick-up with the boat, as we have done many times for our elderly Mom.
We take pride in our family cottage and property and you will find it in good welcoming condition, with fresh linens, well- equipped kitchen, barbeque, outdoor furniture, tennis and fishing equipment. Lovely gardens and plenty of shade. We have two heat pumps for warmth and cooling. There are also has separate portable air conditioners as needed.
Minimum stay of 7 nights please to really enjoy Eagles' Landing!
