Summary: Never again. The room was a bit run down and the bathroom was in bad shape. The shower head hardly worked and we only got barley warm water. It is very close to the beach, which is nice, but that was about it. We had the family room with 3 beds. The twin bed was a thin mattress on a creaky metal frame. I am thankful our 3rd wasn't able to make so they didn't have to sleep on that. The full sized bed is in a niche with dark curtain but it has a skylight so no sleeping in if you like it dark! There was a small space heater running in the living room, but nothing was said if the heat actually works in there or not, so we struggled to keep it comfy. Also, you have to go through a locked gate that doesn't latch on its own, so people who are not guests or residents of that alley cut through all the time, so its not secure. And the biggest nope is the parking situation. They have like 8 parking spots and its first come first served. They mention alternate parking that is at the civic center parking garage 2 BLOCKS AWAY uphill from the hotel, so it was a nightmare lugging our stuff back up to the car when we checked out because the traffic pattern is such that it is MUCH harder to get back to the hotel than it is to get to the parking garage.

Summary: We stayed three nights in November. Front desk staff was very friendly and kind. Parking looks a little iffy, but even if your car is blocked by another, the front desk can move the car quickly so you can get out. Our room was comfortable, even though quite small. King bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. It was nice to be able to open the windows and let the fresh air inside. The bathroom was super clean, my only issue was the shower pressure which was almost non-existent. Location can't be beat! Short walk to anywhere you want to go, whether the Pier, Main Street, or the Promenade Shopping side. We would've loved a coffee maker in the room, but the lobby does have coffee at all times. I would def stay here again.

Summary: Read the fine print about reserving hotel parking. Staff was not friendly and did not inform us of the building construction that started at 8 am with jackhammers that ratted our room until about 3 pm each day we were there. Maybe there is a beach view from a higher floor but not on the first floor where we were. For the price, there are other options close by that are better.

Summary: We stayed for one night as some of our family members were running the Santa Monica Classic and didn't want to drive in the morning. The proximity of this hotel to the playgrounds as well as the boardwalk was a huge advantage of staying here for us. We did not have any issues with parking like what was specified in a lot of the reviews for this place however, it's important to note that we were there right at check in time. The beds were comfy, the room was spacious, the shower was small but it had good pressure. They have hand soap and lotion by the sink in the bathroom and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. It's not a fancy place but for the area, I think it's still worth its overnight price.
Front desk was friendly, offered us coffee but it was the afternoon and we didn't want to stay up too late. Would book here again.

Summary: This hotel is really good. The location is excellent for going to beach and pier and third ave promenade. The style is vintage but the rooms are tastefully done. I would definitely stay here again. It was great value.
