You’ll get both at this historic 3 bedroom + den apartment suite. Sleeping: Three bedrooms + den Located in the heart of Cabbagetown – Toronto’s Victorian historic district – our 3 bedroom plus den suite boasts all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel, including a fully equipped kitchen, powerful hair dryers, high speed Wi-Fi, television, fireplace, air conditioning, separate furnace and the privacy our location affords while being smack dab in the middle of all that Toronto has to offer tourists and business travelers. Did I mention that complimentary parking is provided for one vehicle? The Taylor House (a nod to the original owner John Taylor, circa 1873 and founder of the J. & J. Safe Company) comes fully furnished with comfortable beds (1 Double, 2 Queen,1 Double sleeper sofa + 2 Super- Single convertible sofa's with comfy mattress toppers. Luxury bed linens and towels, a modern kitchen with gas range, dishwasher and microwave and two baths (one with tub and shower and one with low lip shower). There is even a sunny private deck suitable for outside dining. It is the perfect size for a romantic weekend away for two, three colleagues in town on business or large enough to accommodate a family or group of up to 8-10. We specialize in special occasions! Your suite overlooks lush gardens and a bubbling fountain and receives lots of morning light. If you feel like staying in, you can enjoy a glass of wine in front of the beautiful fireplace that is original to the house, read a book, listen to music, enjoy a game of cards or one of the board games you will find in the entertainment cabinet in the den. When you are ready to venture out, Taylor House is conveniently located a 10 minute walk from Yonge/Dundas Square (The Eaton’s Center) and many of Toronto’s main attractions – including the Distillery District, St. Lawrence Market, Hockey Hall of Fame, Art Gallery of Ontario as well as close to hospitals, theaters, universities and the financial district. There is also transit a short walk away that will take you to the Yonge Subway or east to the Danforth shopping area and the Bloor Subway line. If you like to cycle there is a Toronto Bike-share just outside the front gates of the property. If you are booking for a special occasion ask us about using the back garden for a cocktail reception, BBQ or small dinner gathering. (additional fees may be applicable). The unit is stocked with a wide variety of common things that sometimes get forgotten so that you don't have to start your trip finding a pharmacy. Coolers and blankets are available if anyone wants to make a picnic lunch and walk to the Harbor Front/Queens Quay area to Sugar Beach or walk a little further to Cherry Beach. BBQ? The property has a beautiful outdoor seating area and table. During the warmer weather let us know if you would like to have a BBQ. Utensils can be found in the kitchen. Need a Grocery Store? From the front door go right and walk to Dundas St. E. (apx. 2 min.) Turn left and walk 3 blocks to the corner of Dundas and Parliament. You will se Fresco in front of you. The hours are normally 8AM - 8PM. Need a Bike? There is a Bike Share to the right of our front door (apx. 1 minute walk). You can use your credit card to access a bike for an hour or for the day. Want to Shop? The Toronto Eaton's Center is a short 10 minute walk away. Here you will find hundreds of shops and restaurants including Nordstroms, Sak's Fifth Avenue and Hudson's Bay. From our front door turn right and walk to Dundas St. E (apx. 2 min). Turn right on Dundas St. E and walk 3 major city blocks to Dundas/Yonge. The Eaton's Centre will be on the South/West corner. Want to go to the Theater? We are close to the Elgin, Ed Mirvish Theater and CAA Theater and a short cab ride away from the Royal Alexander and Princess of Whales Theaters. Want to go to the Market? There is a Christmas Market at the Historic Distillery District. From our front door turn left and walk towards Dundas E. Turn Left at Dundas E and proceed to Parliament Street (3 blocks) and turn Left again. Keep walking until you reach the Distillery (just past King Street). Want to go to Church? Closest Anglican Church = St. Bartholomew's; Closest Roman Catholic = St. Michael's; Closest Synagogue =City Shul Closest United = St. Luke's United Want to visit a Food Market? The St. Lawrence Market on Front Street is ranked as one of the best markets in the world (#1 in the World by National Geographic for 2018!) . From our front door turn right and walk to Dundas (2 minutes) and turn right. Walk West until you come to Jarvis Street. Turn left and walk South to Front and you will see the market in front of you. Want to Stay In? There is a television in the unit with Netflix. There are also books and current magazines as well as a variety of card and board games. Want to see Farm Animals? Visit the Riverdale Farm located within walking distance (10-15 min). Here you will see cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, hens and other farm animals. Here is a link: Want to enjoy Flowers? Visit Allan Botanical Gardens a 5 minute walk from the house. From the front gate turn left and walk North to Gerrard. Turn left on Gerrard and cross the street into Allan Gardens at the Sherbourne/Gerrard lights. The botanical gardens are visible as you walk in. Admittance is free. Want to see Art? Visit the Art Gallery of Ontario located on Dundas Street West at McCaul Street. You can walk (20 minutes) or take the 505 Dundas Street car. From our front gate turn right and keep walking until you reach McCaul Street. Want to step back to the 70's? Visit Kensington Market! Take the 505 Bus and get off at Spadina Ave and walk west one block and turn right (north) on Kensington or Augusta Avenue into Kensignton Market. Have lunch at one of the little restaurants but save room for dessert at Wanda's Pie in the Sky! on Augusta Ave. near College. Want to keep fit? Try the Regent Park Aquatic Centre for swimming or the Regent Park Sports Field for walking or running. Both are a short walk. From the front gate turn right and walk 1 minute to Dundas St. E and turn left. Keep walking until you come to the Aquatic Centre (approximately 10 minutes away). Want to see the Harbor? From our front gate turn right and walk to Dundas (1 min) and walk towards Sherbourne. At Sherbourne turn left and walk South for about 15-20 minutes and you will go under the Gardener Highway and walk a little further south and you will come to the lake shore (or take transit south on the west side of Sherbourne). Turn right on Queens Quay and you will be walking towards the Harborfront area. Always lots to do and see! Want to go to the Theatre? We are walking distance to the Elgin, Wintergarden, Panasonic, Sony Centre and SoulPepper theatres to name a few.
